2024 Hall of Fame The 2024 Hall of Fame Banquet and inductee presentations will be held on October 12, 2024. Do you know a Galion High School Graduate that deserves recognition for outstanding accomplishments in their careers and communities? Please fill out a nomination form for that individual to be considered for that honor. Nominating forms are due by June 1, 2024. New High School School Entrance Project Revised Totals 10/26/2007
Main Entrance to the New School Complex We are there! There will be an additional cost of approximately $5000 for the plaques that will identify the donors. We still need additional dollars to pay the cost of the plaques. We will be accepting donations for this project through August 31. All donors to the project will have their names included on the plaques. Any monies received above and beyond the total needed to complete the project will be put in a fund for our next project. Keep in mind that all donors will be recognized on the donor plaques. We still need those donations coming in. Thanks to those who have given and there is room for more names on the donor plaques.
The proposed signage for the entrance to the new Galion High School Complex located off Portland Way North is one of the projects being sponsored by the Galion Alumni Association. Fund raising is currently underway. Recent updates received by the Aluni Association indicate that the cost of these signs will be $50,000 rather than the $65,000 originally quoted. This change in cost is due primarily to the reduction in size of both North and South structures and the included electronic message board. To the left will be an indicator as to the progress of the fund raising efforts. Any level of support will be appreciated by the Alumni Association. A part of the fund raising campaign includes a mailing to alumni and businesses informing them of the fund raising efforts. As with all mailings, not all interested parties are reached. Below is the general content of that letter: Dear (Alumni Member) The Galion City Schools are on the threshold of an exciting era. For the first time, all of our students will be in new, state of the art buildings. These new buildings are just part of the many great happenings in our hometown. To mark this new era, the Galion Alumni Association has accepted the task of building a new entryway to this school campus. We believe that these new buildings need a dramatic and eye-catching new sign to clearly identify the new campus. This dramatic new entryway will feature a 13' electronic message board built into an attractive brick and stone entrance. The architects have worked to integrate this entryway into the new high school and middle school buildings. A draft version of this entryway is enclosed. These entryways will be on State Route 598. The total cost of this entryway is $65,000. We need your support. We are reaching out to you as a member of the Galion Alumni Association to help us with this exciting project. We have set donation levels to help you. All donors at these levels will be recognized on a marker on the new entryway. Please give generously to this project.
Recognition donation levels are: Tiger Donor Up to $499 Tiger Bronze Medal $500 to $999 Tiger Silver Medal $1000 to $2499 Tiger Gold Medal $2500 or more Any donation above bronze level can be made in four payments over one year.
