2024 Hall of Fame The 2024 Hall of Fame Banquet and inductee presentations will be held on October 12, 2024. Do you know a Galion High School Graduate that deserves recognition for outstanding accomplishments in their careers and communities? Please fill out a nomination form for that individual to be considered for that honor. Nominating forms are due by June 1, 2024. Galion Alumni Association Executive Committee Minutes Sept. 17th, 2007 Attendance: Brian Treisch, Joe Kleinknecht, Steve Melchior, Sue Jarvis, Bill Durtschi, Craig Clinger, Thomas Palmer Guests: Gary Frankhouse and Bruce Angell President Brian Treisch called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. The agenda was approved with flexibility. (Motion: Joe Kleinknecht/ Craig Clinger) Treasurer’s Report was given by Steve Melchior. The ending balance as of Sept 17th, 2007 is $3737.78. Treasurers Report was approved. (Motion: Thomas Palmer/Bill Durtschi) Gary Frankhouse explained the function of the Galion Education Foundation. The Foundation funds educational activities for public, private and home school students. Fundraising is always a concern. Gary suggested pooling resources for fund raising activities. The Galion Community Foundation is another funding avenue for scholarships and grants. Bruce Angell reported that over $500,000.00 in scholarships has been given out since 2000. Some agencies that have benefited from The Community Foundation are The Galion Community YMCA, The Red Cross, Community Theater, Boy Scouts, Galion Public Library, Sara Beegle Center, The Galion Fire Department and others. The Entryway Project has reached $58,848.00. The fund raiser raffle drawing will take place at the Varsity Grille Sept. 28th after the football game. Brian Treisch announced that there are presently 168 members of the Alumni Association. The newsletter will be available on line October 15th. Steve Melchior reported that people are still concerned about security on the website. Joe Kleinknecht has been working on selling advertising to local business. Nov. 3rd has been set for a work session for the Alumni Association. Sue Jarvis will procure a facilitator. Brian Treisch will reserve the Galion High School Library. An ad-hoc committee for the purpose of looking into fund raising was discussed and will be looked at after the work session on Nov. 3rd.
