2024 Hall of Fame The 2024 Hall of Fame Banquet and inductee presentations will be held on October 12, 2024. Do you know a Galion High School Graduate that deserves recognition for outstanding accomplishments in their careers and communities? Please fill out a nomination form for that individual to be considered for that honor. Nominating forms are due by June 1, 2024. Click on the banner below to print out the nominating criteria and and form. Provide as much information as possible, but most importantly nominate some one you feel is deserving of recognition. |

Connections Weekend Planning Committee Sept. 8, 2016 Brian Treisch called the meeting to order. Members present: Rev. Rick Maddox, Miranda Jones, Jim Grogg, Sara Wegesin, Brian Treisch, Joe Kleinknecht, Steve Melcher, and Dave Spraw. Financial Report: Dave report that $10,751.00 has been donated to date. This includes $551.00 that was received just prior to the meeting.
Pancake Breakfast: Joe and Brian reported that everything is set with entertainment scheduled for the morning.
Alumni Band Night: Brian reported that this is all set and announced the practice times that have been set up.
HOF Nominations: This year’s class has been selected and includes: Gayle Dull – 1903; William Durtschi – 1940; Kevin Arnole – 1975; Scott Palmer – 1981; Rick Jobe – 1982; Jim Wegesin – Staff Member. (Jim was chosen by consensus of the steering committee to replace Marilyn Stepro who declined her selection. Brian Treisch will draft a letter to respond to Mrs. Stepro about her decision.)Mr. Grogg will be sending the appropriate letters to inductees.
Dinner/Banquet: In the absence of co-chairs Marilyn Stepro & Sandy Powell, Dave reported that the menu would be chicken or beef + appropriate complementary dishes; reservations are due to Avita by Oct. 7.
Fund Raising: ?????
Program: Dave indicated that he will begin working on the program and will need bios of inductees, etc., to give to A1 Printing.
Awards: Miranda reported that she will order awards but will need complete names, graduation years, etc., to set this process in motion. She also asked about the number of speakers for Career Day so she can the gifts.
Career Day: Jim reported that Jennifer Allerding is already working on this with a new format being put into place. She will be working with the new administrators at the Middle School to select servers, etc.
Status of Design: The plan is to have drawings at the dinner.
Other Business: The basic schedule was announced and will be as follows:
Thursday, 10-13-16 - Bonfire – New: Bands, Car Smash, Pizza
Friday, 10-14-16 - Career Day 8 – Noon at the Middle School. Game – Pregame 6:00; Alumni Band – 6:30; Game – 7:00
Saturday, 10-15-16 - Pancake Breakfast 7 – 11 at ??????????? HOF Dinner – 6 PM at the Middle School
Sara Wegesin explained the new “Leader in Me” Program, volunteering students to work in some capacity at the various events. After some discussion, the decision was made to include the students in the pancake breakfast activities.
