2024 Hall of Fame The 2024 Hall of Fame Banquet and inductee presentations will be held on October 12, 2024. Do you know a Galion High School Graduate that deserves recognition for outstanding accomplishments in their careers and communities? Please fill out a nomination form for that individual to be considered for that honor. Nominating forms are due by June 1, 2024. Click on the banner below to print out the nominating criteria and and form. Provide as much information as possible, but most importantly nominate some one you feel is deserving of recognition. |

Connections Weekend Planning March 15, 2017
Agenda
In Attendance: Kyle Baughn, Terry Gribble, Jim Grubbs, Miranda Jones, Joe Kleinknecht, Rick Maddox, Steve Melchoir, Sandy Powell, Dave Spraw, Marilyn Stepro, Sarah Wegesin & Andee Wildenthaler.
Financial Reports: Treasury Balance - $26,645.13;
Review of Minutes: no changes
Committee Updates:
Bonfire/Pep Rally - October 5th @ 6:50 pm; bonfire will remain at the practice field; Alumni Band practice will kick-off the bonfire; Donley Ford will sponsor a test-drive fund raiser on Saturday morning in conjunction with the pancake breakfast;
Pancake Breakfast - Joe will coordinate with the Intermediate School Principal and Assistant Food Service Director for the date and time of the breakfast;
Alumni Band - Still planning on participation on Bonfire & Homecoming Night;
Hall of Fame Nominations - Have nominations in by June 15th, Review of Applications Monday, June 21st; promotion of the HOF application process will begin this month; will appear in the Alumni Site; linked to building sites; possible recipients - Horace Freese, Keith Houk, Paul Kim, Arthur Poister, Matt Smith, Van Wagner, John Swain (look for form); Sandy will review applications still on file and share those names at the April meeting;
Dinner Banquet - October 7th @ 6:30 pm; doors open for seating @ 6:00 pm; Marilyn will contact AVITA to cater; price will be $35 per person;
Fund Raising - Jim discussed update on the Auditorium project; Jim will be having a work session with the school board on May 2nd to determine future construction plans; Jim would then hold community forums to discuss the plans and gather input; ultimately the district would need to go to the voters to support the new district building project;
Program - Dave will again lead this project; A1 Printing was recommended as the printer again for this year's ceremony;
Awards - Dave also suggested using Dean's Trophy House (Bucyrus) again this year for the Hall of Fame plaques; Miranda will contact Schillings for the award crystal and token gift for the speakers (will determine May);
Career Day - Jen Allerding will meet in April to discuss Career Day;
New Business - no new business this month/Jim would like to have "Leader In Me" students incorporated into the weekend, will discuss further in April;
Next Meeting Date - Wednesday, April 19th @ 7:30 am;
