2024 Hall of Fame The 2024 Hall of Fame Banquet and inductee presentations will be held on October 12, 2024. Do you know a Galion High School Graduate that deserves recognition for outstanding accomplishments in their careers and communities? Please fill out a nomination form for that individual to be considered for that honor. Nominating forms are due by June 1, 2024. Click on the banner below to print out the nominating criteria and and form. Provide as much information as possible, but most importantly nominate some one you feel is deserving of recognition. |

Connections Weekend Planning Meeting June 21, 2017
Agenda
In Attendance: Jim Grubbs, Miranda Jones, Joe Kleinknecht, Rick Maddox, Steve Melchior, Sandy Powell, Dave Spraw, Marilyn Stepro, Brian Treisch & Sarah Wegesin
Financial Report - Dave announced that a $3000 donations from Galion Alumni Association was received;
Review of Minutes - Minutes were approved(Steve motion, Marilyn seconded):
Committee Updates:
Bonfire/Pep Rally - No additional report, Kyle out of town;
Pancake Breakfast - Kiwanis ready for the breakfast and Donley will be finalizing details for the test-drive campaign; "Leader in Me" entertainment will again be performing; Miranda will want to discuss the Donley Test Drive w/Kyle before moving ahead with the 5K race;
Alumni Band - Brian announced that the band will be available for Bonfire & Homecoming Night;
Hall of Fame Nominations - selection process will follow today's meeting;
Dinner Banquet - no changes to date;
Fund Raising - a letter from Superintendent's office will go out to possible contributors using the Chamber of Commerce mailing list;
Program - Dave asked about using the new printing company or stay w/A-1; Joe suggested asking for quotes from both printing companies;
Awards - No change from May's meeting;
Career Day - Jim reported that Jen was looking for assistance in the district on this project;
New Business - Jim reported that the Board's list of improvements included additional athletic complex upgrades & bus garage on campus at an estimated cost of $3 million, then new auditorium construction has an estimated cost of $5 to $6 million; Jim suggested the committee look to a levy research firm to conduct a survey of the community's support for new construction for the campus; Miranda reminded the committee to promote the "Connections Events" at the "Third Friday Event" in August. The Alumni Association will share their booth space with the committee to promote the Connections' Weekend events.
Next Meeting Date - Wednesday, August 16th @ 7:30 am @ the Galion Schools Administrative Center.
