2024 Hall of Fame The 2024 Hall of Fame Banquet and inductee presentations will be held on October 12, 2024. Do you know a Galion High School Graduate that deserves recognition for outstanding accomplishments in their careers and communities? Please fill out a nomination form for that individual to be considered for that honor. Nominating forms are due by June 1, 2024. Click on the banner below to print out the nominating criteria and and form. Provide as much information as possible, but most importantly nominate some one you feel is deserving of recognition. |

Connections Weekend Planning 6/20/2018 Agenda: In Attendance: Jen Allerding, Kyle Baughn, Terry Gribble, Miranda Jones, Steve Melchior, Sandy Powell, Beth Rutledge, Dave Spraw, Chris Stone & Brian Treisch, Financial Report: As reported last month, the investment account has approximately $31,000 and the checking account total is $15,080. Review of Minutes: Jen and Terry moved to approve minutes from May 25, 2018; Coordinator's Report: Beth shared that on June 19th the HOF committee met and selected this year's HOF list; Committee Updates: Bonfire/Pep Rally - The 2018 Connections Weekend will be October 11 - 13th; Booster Club will host a hot dog fundraiser and pie auction; the Pep Rally event will begin @ 6:45 pm; Pancake Breakfast - the Kiwanis Club has coordinated with Food Service to use the Intermediate School on Saturday morning 10/13; Alumni Band - Will continue in 2018; Alumni Band rehearsals have begun on Sunday evenings; Hall of Fame Nominations - The sub-committee met on June 19th and selected the following HOF honorees for 2018 - George Guins, Michael Jokerst, Paul Kim, Mark Stepro, John Swain and Van Wagner; Brian and Dave recommend adding Horace Freese w/biography to come: Terry and Steve approved the list of HOF awardees; Chris will prepare news release to announce the honorees; Dinner Banquet - Sandy & Beth will meet with Wade Cramer (AVITA Chef) on Tuesday, July 17th; Fund Raising & Promotion - Beth is preparing the fundraising letter and will use the new mailing list from the Chamber of Commerce that Miranda forwarded to Jim in May; Program - Dave will coordinate w/the committee members to build the program as in previous years; Beth will look for the Bio form to send to several of the honorees; Awards - Miranda has coordinated the HOF awards again with Schillings and Dave will again arrange with Dean's Trophies for HS plaques; Career Day - MS morning program - Jen has reached out to Dr. Kim and will do the same with Mark Stepro and one of the law enforcement speakers previously recommended; the committee will help in July to identify potential speakers from Jen's recommended career area's; Capital Planning Updates - No updates this month; New Business - HS Leadership Day; Chris will work with Jake Grove at the HS for this project; Brian asked if there was a record on file for all of the Freese Foundation members; Dave suggested that Tena Easter may have that list in the HS files; Next Meeting - Wednesday, July 18, 2018 @ 7:30 am @ the Galion Schools' Administrative Center.
