Alumni Association Raffle Underway

The Galion Alumni Association has started its annual Oktoberfest raffle. This year all proceeds from this raffle are going to the new message board to be located at the entryway to the new school campus

"This is our second raffle," said Joe Kleinknecht. "We hope to raise $2000 for the start of the fundraising for the new message board."  Tickets are available from any of the Alumni Assosiation board members and at select businesses in the Uptowne.  "Tickets are $5 each and the top prize is $1000. Second prize is $500, third prize $300, and fourth prize is $200. Only 800 tickets are going to be sold", said Kleinknecht.

The new message board will be an electronic message board located at the Portland Way North entrance to the new school campus.  "We have worked with the architects and the administration to develop an attractive entryway to the new schools," said Tom Palmer, president of the association.  "Gary Riddle, Joe Kleinknecht, and Brian Treisch have agreed to serve as co-chairs to raise the funds for this project." The estimated cost for this new entrance way sign and message board is $50,000.

We will be approaching businesses, community members and alumni to raise this amount," said Treisch.  "It is a very large project, but one we believe will benefit the community and clearly identify the entryway to the new schools."

Anyone wishig to contribute to the entryway project or to buy a raffle ticket should contact Brian Treisch at 419-462-2209.
