Galion Alumni Association

Meeting of January 15, 2007

In attendance were: Thomas Palmer, Steve Melchoir, Brian Treisch, Joe Kleinknecht, Craig Clinger, and Kay Gerlach.

The meeting began at 7:02 p.m.

Craig reviewed the treasurer’s report. This was approved as presented. A copy of this report is attached.

Thomas reviewed the upcoming Annual Meeting. This meeting will be held on February 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. New officers will be elected at this meeting. Thomas will confirm which board members will need to be reelected.

Brian reviewed the proposed membership letters. Board members were asked to provide changes very quickly so that 2007 dues letters could be sent. He also presented the January newsletter that will be sent to all members with dues statements where appropriate. Brian then left the meeting, and Kay took the remaining minutes.

Steve discussed the newsletter and the need for everyone to provide updates to the website. He also indicated that the Varsity Grill was interested in becoming a sponsor.

Joe reviewed the progress of the donations for the entryway project. Nearly $20,000 has been collected. All those that have donated or pledged amounts have been sent thank you letters.

The board reminded the secretary to send out letters to all board members regarding attendance.

A general discussion regarding the need to increase membership rather than undertake more projects followed. No action was taken on this.
