November Activities Announced

Galion Alumni Band Plans Busy November

The Galion Tiger Alumni Band has a busy November planned. On Saturday, November 10 at 2:00 the Alumni Band will practice in the new high school band room. This rehearsal is to get ready for the next day performances and for the holiday parade planned for Uptowne Galion.

The Alumni Band will perform at noon on Sunday, November 11 at the Veteran’s Memorial at the city building. Immediately following the performance in Galion, the band will hurry to Bucyrus to take part in the first county wide Veteran’s Day parade and ceremony inducting servicemen into the county Veteran ’s Hall of fame. Alumni band director Brian Treisch has been asked to conduct the combined bands from Bucyrus, Wynford, Colonel Crawford, Buckeye Central and the Alumni Band in the National Anthem and “A Salute to the Armed Forces.”

The Alumni Band will welcome all area musicians to join them in these Veteran’s Day performances.

The Alumni Band will also take part in the annual Santa Parade in Uptowne Galion on Saturday, November 24. This fun parade will form at approximately 4:45 p.m. near the Depot on Harding Way East and Washington Street . The band will also take part in the tree lighting ceremony at the Square following the parade.

In the event of inclement weather, the Veteran’s Day ceremony in Bucyrus will be held indoors. Final location for this will be announced. All other events will go as planned.
