The Ice Cream Social, held on Saturday, June  27th, celebrates the original church that became Peace Lutheran, First United Church of Christ, and the First Lutheran Churches in Galion.  The original German settlers formed a church on the south east corner of Church and Union Street in the 1840's.

This now annual event was started 4 or 5 years ago to celebrate the 150th anniversary of one of the congregations. 

Entertainment is part of the event, and the Galion Alumni Band was a part of the entertainment, playing for about 45 minutes.
