The schedule for the Galion Connections Weekend has been developed. Details of the event are included in this article. Other than a rough outline of the events shown here, the details can be found by following the links provided for the events. Included is information regarding sponsorship of events and registration information. The links will appear as colored text and can be accessed by clicking on those links. Most of the information is presented in PDF format and can be printed out for your use. There will be updates to this information as it becomes available. This information can be found at the Galion City Schools website. Please consider becoming a sponsor of one of the many events planned for this weekend.
Thursday, October 6:
Old Fashioned Pep Rally, Bonfire and Alumni Band Rehearsal at Unkrich Stadium from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. What a great evening to reconnect with your classmates and friends.
Friday, October 7:
Career Day at the Galion High School from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Returning Alumni share their success and advice with our students. Last years event saw over 77 alumni participating from all over the world!
Homecoming Football Game and marching Band Reunion at Unkrich Stadium. Join the band for this fun evening of Homecoming activities and watching the tigers in an exciting football game.
Saturday, October 8:
Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast at the Galion Middle School from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Fuel up before and /or after the 5K Run with some hot fluffy goodness.
Grace Bretheren 50th Anniversary Fun Run/Walk at the Galion Intermediate School. 8:00 a.m. registration - 9:00a.m. start. A new event this year which promises to be very popular. Be there, do that, get the shirt.
Golf Scramble at the Galion Country Club. 8:30 a.m. Check-in - 10:00 a.m. start. A four-person scramble with Prizes, Food and Fun!
Tiny Tiger Tours from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A behind-the-scenes look at Galion Conmmunity Hospital. kids and their families are provided tours and hands-on-experiences within many departments of the hospital. Healthy snacks provided. Open to all students, but geared toward K -- 5th.
Air Extreme Inflatables and Obstacle Course at the Galion Middle School from noon to 4:00 p.m. Another new event that kids and adults alike will love!! Obstacle Course, Bungee Run, Sticky Wall and more. Huge Fun!!!
Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Banquet at the Middle School Cafetorium starting at 7:00p.m. The Hall of Fame is to honor Galion Graduates and Galion Educators who have made their marks.
The Dinner and induction ceremony is open to the Community and will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Galion Middle School beginning at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $35 each and can be ordered by calling 419-468-3432, ext. 1004, ordered electronically online here, or by completing and mailing the Dinner Form found on the Connections Link at http://www.galionschools.org/. Tickets will be distributed upon entrance, the night of the event.
