Connections Weekend 2015

October 8-10, 2015

Connections Weekend is fast approaching and the events are coming together. This event is designed to bring current and former students of the Galion City School System together to display the opportunities and successes that have been enjoyed by former students and might be of interest to current students. It provides an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of Galion graduates that have gone on to provide outstanding performance in their work endeavors and in their communities. This event is designed not only to bring back former students, but to involve the community at large in the educational opportunities available through the Galion City Schools.

Thursday, October 8th the weekend events will kick off with a Pep Rally from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will include a bonfire and the GHS and Alumni Bands.

Friday, October 9th is Career Day where returning Alumni share their success stories along with advice on persuing certain careers. Friday evening is the homecoming game at Unckrich Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 10th is the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast held at the Galion Intermediate School from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday evening features the Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony in the Middle School Cafe. Doors open at 6:00 with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. The ticket prices the dinner are $35.00

The dinner, being provided by Avita and served by Middle School Students, will offer a choice of either Bourbon Street Chicken or Steak House Chopped Steak with carmalized Vidalia onions and herbed mushrooms served on a plate along with Southern Style Green Beans and Mashed Red Skin Potatoes. There will be a Strawberry Crunch Salad with strawberry yogurt dressing, rolls and butter and assorted cheesecake deserts available on each table. Dinner reservations can be made by calling the Galion City Schools Central Office at 419-468-3432 during business hours and must be received by October 1st. If special dietary needs are required, please make this known when placing you ticket order.

Checks for dinner reservations should be made out to the Galion Community Foundation with "HOF Dinner Reservations" on the memo line.

All events are open to the public. You do not need to be a graduate of the Galion City Schools to attend.
