Connections Weekend Planning Meeting                  March 13, 2019

Agenda

Attendance - Jennifer Allerding, Kyle Baughn, Terry Gribble, Joe Kleinknecht, Steve Melchoir, Sandy Powell, Dave Spraw, Chris Stone and Brian Treisch;

Financial Report - Dave asked the committee if the $641 earnings on the Synergy account should be reinvested back into the account.  The committee agreed to reinvesting the earnings;

Coordinator's Report -  Chris Stone has agreed to serve as the Connection's Weekend Coordinator for 2019.  Dave Spraw made the motion to approve the assignment and Terry Gribble seconded the motion.  The committee approved the new appointment unanimously.  Chris will be compensated up to $2000 for his work.

Committee Updates

- Bonfire/Pep Rally -  Will occur Thursday evening, October 3^rd.

-  Pancake Breakfast - Is planned for October 5^th.

-  Alumni Band Performance - Brian shared that the band will participate in the October 3rd Rehearsal and October 4th @ Homecoming Game.

-  Hall of Fame Nominations - Chris has posted the nomination announcement  with the media outlets and related websites.   2019 HOF nominations on file include: David Campbell,  Mary Court, Deb Garverick, Jerry James, Ken Jarvis and Kelly (Dye) Rowland.

-  HOF Banquet - October 5, 2019; Sandy will contact AVITA's Food Service as a date saver.

-  Fund Raising - Chris will distribute Sponsorship letters by April 1st with a participation deadline of September 6^th.

-  Program - Dave still needs a photo of Mark Stepro for the plaque. Chris contacted A1 Printing for photo from the 2018 program.

-  Awards - Dave will be using Deans Trophy House for the 2019 Banquet.

-  Career Day - Jennifer continues to communicate w/Middle School Principals for the October 4th Career Day.

Other Business - Discussed use of Synergy Funds, approximately $50,000, for more than just a performing arts center. Jennifer and Kyle will speak to Jim for district ideas to be shared at our April meeting. Dave will give Mike Jokerst's framed photo to his mother.
