Connections Weekend Planning Meeting Notes             June 22, 2021

In Attendance:  Jen Allerding, Kyle Baughn, Terry Gribble, Joe Kleinknecht, Steve Melchior, Sandy Powell and Brian Treisch

Financial Report - Dave will provide an updated financial report in July.

Approve Minutes - Thanks to Steve for bringing the May 26, 2021 minutes for approval.  Steve made a motion to approve, Terry seconded, motion carries.

Connections Weekend Events for 2021

●Bonfire & Pep Rally October 14th

●Career Day - MS @ October 15th

●Homecoming Game - October 15th w/Lima Central Catholic

●Alumni Band - October 15th; Alumni Band members would like to set up a tent up for visitation after the half-time show. Leadership is also promoting for more members to march @ homecoming.

●Kiwanis Pancake Day - October 16th @ 8:00 - 10:30am @ Intermediate School Cafeteria

●Connections/YMCA 5K Race & 1 Mile Walk - October 16th@ 8:30 a m - 10:00 am. Race will begin and finish at the Middle School.

●Hall of Fame Dinner - October 16th @ 6:30 pm. Seating begins @ 6:00 pm.

Hall of Fame Nominee Selectionfor 2021

●Gene Bosler, Martha Bell Boyd, Lupe Campo, Mary Court,Chet Foraker, Deb Garverick and Max Ness were the new nominations for 2020/2021. Letters will be mailed to the HOF award winners. Dave Spraw will need their biographies for the program. Terry made the motion to approve and Joe seconded, motion carries.

Hall of Fame Dinner- October 16th @ GMS Cafetoriumw/ MS student servers.

●Doug Frederick @ AVITA will prepare:garlic rosemary chicken or roast beef,strawberry-spinach salad, fresh vegetable medley,herb roasted fingerling potatoes, peachcobbler and/or chocolate lovin' spoon cake.

●John Warner will be contacted as the new Showtunes director to lead the alma mater.

●MS principals will be contacted for student support from the Leadership Committee team for dinner servers.

Marketing - A letter will be sent to businesses and past HOF recipients promoting events and asking for sponsorship for 2021 events.

Performing Arts Center- no planning has been held in 2020 due to pandemic concerns. Brian will communicate with the Garverick's to begin again in 2021. Jennifer spoke about the possibility of a "Legacy Trust" asa fundraising vehicle for the project. She wondered if any local attorneys would have experience in settingup and managing these. Sandy contacted Dave Keller who has not worked with any Legacy Trusts fororganizations.

Other:

●Committee Organization - Time to reach out for newmembers.

●Support for the Committee - Brian and Dave suggested finding an administrative assistant to help with duties. Continued discussion for the  creation of a shared position w/the Alumni Association. A sub-committee will meet @ noon on June30th @ the HS to prepare a job description for this position.
