Connections Weekend Planning Committee Meeting       Nov. 10, 2021

In Attendance: Kyle Baughn, Terry Gribble, Steve Melchoir, Melissa Miller, Sandy Powell & Dave Spraw

Financial Report - Dave Spraw shared a Synergy Fund sheet which noted deposits of $7,630 for meals or sponsorships ( $500 is still expected from Galion Education Foundation). The 2021 Connections Weekend expenses totaled $1801.53. Melissa moved to approve the financial report, Steve seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Review and approve minutes - October 6th minutes were reviewed. Terry Gribble moved to approve the minutes, Steve Melchoir seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Marketing and Fundraising - Dave suggested reviewing the sponsorship packet to determine if any changes should be made for 2022. This will occur at an upcoming meeting in 2022. Melissa offered to make follow-up phone calls to previous sponsors to remind them of their prior contributions.

Connections Weekend 2022 Events - October 13 - 15, 2022

Bonfire, Pep Rally & Alumni Band Practice @ Unkrich Stadium - Thursday, October 13th

Career Day @ Middle School - October 14th

Homecoming Game w/Pleasant HS @ Unkrich Stadium - October 14th

Kiwanis Pancake Day @ Intermediate School - October 15th

YMCA 5K Race & 1 Mile Walk @ Middle School - October 15th

Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony @ Middle School - October 15th

Performing Arts Center - No report. Melissa and Sandy would also be interested in attending the meeting w/Cramer & Associates.

Other:

Steve reported that the Connections Weekend Photos taken by Lynn Foust were posted to the Alumni Association website.

HOF Induction Ceremony went smoothly. Award trophies were very appreciated by the recipients. Nice comments regarding all aspects of the event.

Sandy will work with AVITA again for the 2022 HOF Dinner but will request some updates to the menu selections.

Need clarification from Jen and/or Brian regarding district newsletter editor duties. Unclear who is to prepare articles.

Suggestion was made to purchase 2 gift cards ($50 each) for Stacy Kuehlman and Regina Jutz for their help in the preparation of mailings and reservations. Sandy will take care of this "thank you" for the two district staff. Neither lady submitted time for their help.

Next Meeting: Wednesday, February 9th @ 7:30 am at the Galion City Schools Administration Center.
