Connections Weekend Planning Committee Meeting Notes

August 10, 2022

In Attendance: Jennifer Allerding, Kyle Baughn, Terry Gribble, Regina Jutz, Steve Melchoir, Sandy Powell, Dave Spraw and Brian Treisch

Approve Agenda - Terry motioned to approve and Brian seconded, motion carried.

Financial Report - No new deposits or payments. Update on investment and checking accounts will be reported to the committee next month.

Review and approve minutes - Minutes from the 07/13/21 meeting were reviewed. Dave motioned to approve, Terry made the second and the motion carried.

Marketing and Fundraising - HOF award letters were mailed. Regina will mail previous HOF awardees' letters soon. Jen will be securing the local business labels from the Chamber of Commerce for the marketing letters.

 Connections Weekend 2022 Events - October 12 - 15, 2022

●     New event - Fall Choir Concert @ HS on Wednesday, October 12th

●     Bonfire, Pep Rally & Alumni Band Practice @ Unkrich Stadium - Thursday, October 13th

●     Career Day @ Middle School - October 14th

●     Homecoming Game w/Pleasant HS @ Unkrich Stadium - October 14th

●     Kiwanis Pancake Day @ Intermediate School - October 15th - would like to increase attendance

●     YMCA 5K Race & 1 Mile Walk @ Middle School - October 15th -9:00 a.m.

●      Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony @ Middle School - October 15th @ 6:30 pm; AVITA catering

Performing Arts Center - Brian reported that the Galion Port Authority met with Superintendent Allerding and Treasurer Parkinson this week. Members of the Port Authority will be meeting with the Galion Board of Education to discuss the community project.

Other:

●     Awards have been ordered, HOF Dinner menu has been submitted to AVITA, and floral centerpieces have been order w/Flower Cart Florists.

●     Craig Alguire will be taking the HOF recipients' photographs. They need to call Craig for an appointment.

Next Meeting: Wednesday,September 21st @ 7:30 am at the Galion City Schools Administration Center.
