Connections Weekend Planning Committee Meeting Notes

July 19, 2023

In Attendance: Regina Jutz, Steve Melchior, Sandy Powell, Dave Spraw, Tasha Stanton & Brian Treisch

Approve Agenda - D. Spraw moved, S. Powell seconded - motion carried

Approve Minutes - D. Spraw moved, B. Treisch seconded - motion carried

Financial Report - Dave shared that the checking account has $19,860, the Ed Jones investment account has $53,475.69 as posted on March 31, 2023.

Report on 2023 Inductees -

The 2023 HOF Inductees are: Dan Beach, '71, Dave Beach, '71, Philip Bunyard (educator award), Chris Heydinger '84, Leo Jobe '73, Lorraine Dankowski Jordan, '74 and Cleve (Jim) Ricksecker, '71.

The newest inductee was approved - D. Spraw moved, T. Stanton seconded - motion carried.

Biographies are coming into Dave who is working on this year's program and plaques

2023 Connections Weekend Events - October 12 - 14, 2023

Bonfire, Pep Rally & Alumni Band Practice - October 12th

Career Day @ Middle School - October 13th

Homecoming Game vs. Clear Fork Colts - October 13th

Kiwanis Pancake Day@ Intermediate School - October 14th

Hall of Fame Dinner/Induction Ceremony@ Middle School - October 14th

No 5K race this year with the YMCA

Sandy reported that AVITA catering will prepare the meal and provide the table linens. Sandy will order the centerpieces this week.

Brian will contact Miranda Jones at the Chamber to order this year's inductee awards through Schillings.

Performing Arts Center - Brian stated that there was no new business.

Other business -

Regina has mailed the inductee's letters and will mail the marketing letters next week.

Shannon from Food Service will work w/Kiwanis member Doug Greene regarding breakfast details.

Next month Brian will make contact with new music staff regarding the various activities related to Connections Weekend.

Kyle Baughn will be an Athletic Director in the Cardington School District. Our committee appreciated Kyle's help over the years with Connections Weekend.

Next Meeting will be Tuesday, August 8th @ 9:00 am. In the Ad min Center
