For the thirty-fourth consecutive year, the Galion Alumni Band will take the field to perform once again during the annual Alumni Night Reunion.  This year the band will perform on Friday, September 25, 2009 when the Galion Tigers take on Tiffin Columbian during Galion’s 2009 Homecoming weekend.

The band has scheduled 5 rehearsals for this year’s reunion.  The first practice is Sunday, Aug. 30 at 6:00PM at the Galion Senior High School band room.  The remaining practices, held at 6:00PM in the same location, are as follow: Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 24.  One final rehearsal will be held on Friday, September 25 at the GHS Football Stadium prior to the game.  Those alumni interested in marching can register online at www.galionalumniband.org , or by calling Shawn Woerlein at 419-512-6644.  All interested members must register or RSVP by September 1, 2009.  If registration is not made before this cutoff date, members will not have a spot in the marching block for pregame or halftime performances.

The Galion Alumni Band claims to be the largest active high school alumni band in Ohio, with over 350 members on the roster.  The band has performed this year at the Port Clinton Walleye Festival, Bexley 4th of July Celebration Parade, the Galion Memorial Day Parade, numerous local events, and will be performing at the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival Parade in August.

Alumni from all across the Midwest return to perform for Alumni Night.  Last year’s band included members from Illinois, New York, and Ohio.  This year’s band anticipates over 80 alumni to take the field just one more time.
